SOUNDS OF A 5G ORKNEY

Commissioned by Cisco the idea was too create a cultural moment with renowned composer Erland Cooper. Tasked to create a soundscape that captured the essence of his native Orkney, but with a 5G twist. Developing first-of-their-kind 5G remote microphones and planting them around the islands, enabled us to live stream sounds of a 5G Orkney to Erland’s London studio continuously, where he created a new and special composition, ‘Tapestry’.

In October 2019, the track premiered on BBC Radio 6 and subsequently turned into 200 limited edition vinyl records.
